So Jordan gov decided to lift their subsidy which resulted into skyrocketed price of gas. Again. And it took effect immediately. Almost everything skyrocketed to ridiculous price. Last month, my bus fare was 0.35jd one way. Then the bus drivers had a strike one morning (everyone had to take a 5jd/4 cab ride to go to university that day), so the next day the price was 0.40jd, until yesterday. Today, it's 0.50jd. Let's not talk about other prices, like cab fare or groceries, that'll break my heart more.
I don't know, but i don't feel good. Heck i never feel good actually here, since ever.
People will be demonstrating like crazy this weekend, but i hope nothing real bad happen, at least until i graduate.
So, you guys, in case i go AWOL next week, start worrying and save me!
Anyway, I know from the beginning this situation is inevitable. Jordan is a country with no resources at all, no oil, infertile land, nothing to mine, no ocean to fish, nothing! Jordanians mostly suck and that worsen their already detrimental state of a country. They have great people, like my doctors, but the higher ups suck and the systems suck. And they are surrounded with nations at war which used to supply them oil and gas and food, so it's actually a miracle they still standing.
As a sponsored student, i think i can afford these hike, but i'm more worried, and pity actually, about Jordanian themselves. There are a lot of poor or dirt poor people who will have hard time coping, and i hope and pray they will hold on to their conscience and not resort into crime..because they will always target us, foreigners.
God bless everyone..
