Today's my 2nd day in Neurology rotation, and it's.............not bad! Doctors were great, and helpful, and speaks in fluent English and made the material easy to understand. These two days feel like epiphany!
Today's doctor, he began his teaching by nagging how poor our understanding and how useless our pre-clinical years are, and kept saying our understanding is very thin crust, because we read from useless fragmented simplified notes, not the textbook. And he said it's the system's fault haha, which is totally true. IMO, it's the mcq exams fault, meh never study also can pass one. read one two day before exam, study the past year qs for pattern, some logical thinking and some luck = sure pass. Live proof = yours truly. The result : super stupid medical student in neuro round in 5th year.
Doctor then, gave us seminar and asked " where are the thin crusts?" haha. He referred us as thin crust, but i don't feel insulted at all.
So the point is, alhamdulillah thank god for making this rotation bearable. Neurology used to be one of the subjects i hate the most (along with public health and its family, musculoskeletal and cardiovascular). Now, i don't hate it, though liking it would be light years away.
Btw there's an annoying female resident in the department. She should go into derma la, where all residents are annoying uwekkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk. Ophthal residents are the best!

doc ali rifaie kan yang menyalahkan diri mereka lecturers nie yang x mampu memahamkan students ttg neuro msa pre-clinical tu?

belle: tak, ali rifaei x dapat lg. ni dr salem, hebat gile, dekat name die ade 4 american board certification in neuro-whatever. dr siap cakap time nak tny dermatome and nerve course tu, "should i dream asking you these?"...huhu maluu kat doc.
