Journey: 2/5
Hmm...quite a turnoff. For Amman-Kl route, it went Amman-Lebanon-Muscat-Kl. Aircraft change in Muscat. Total journey= 14 hours. About 6 hours for Amman-Lebanon-Muscat, 1 hour transit, 7 hour Muscat-Kl. Lighter aircraft (3-3 seats) for Amman-Lebanon-Muscat, with dinner and snacks served, then newer bigger aircraft (2-4-2 seats) for Muscat-Kl.
Baggage Allowance: 5/5
30kg.
Meal: 3/5
My dinner, fish curry was worse than fish curry in back in my boarding school. Tak sedap. My breakfast, omelette, the omelette wasn't fluffy enough, maybe it's undercooked. I didn't taste the snacks because i was busy sleeping and snoring comfortably.
Flight attendants: 5/5
All of them were good to me, and nice. I don't there was a steward though.
Entertainment: 4/5
Their screen size in the back of the seat is as big as the one in Mas domestic business class, seriously. They got Malay movies, but not korean movies. Their movies selection was quite variable, with too many indian movies, tamil, malayalam, urdu, blablabla. The hollywood movies were not quite recent though, i was hoping for pirates or harry movies, none was there. But, they provide the 1st in the world on air mobile thing. You can call, text from your phone from the flight, supposedly. i tried texting my loved ones, and it failed though. didnt bother trying again because again, too busy sleeping and snoring soundly. and they also provide very expensive internet service, about 20usd for 200mb, if my memory serves me right. There was usb port at the screen so you can browse you portable hd or charge your phones/mp. And, the best one, the sound output port is the 3.5mm one so instead of the crappy flight ear/headphones, i can use my sennheiser one. total blast.
comfort: 5/5
the was quite new, so all of its facilities were quite good. they provide the "survival kit" in case you forgot your toothbrush. And they provide lotion and edt in the lavatory, but it smelled arabic. enough though, to rehydrate dry skin. On the way to kl, there were many empty seats, so after cleaning myself, i conquered all 4 seats, used 2 blankets, put on the sock, stacked 3 pillows for head support and 2 pillows as bolsters, and i slept until breakfast. My best flight ever.
Native: 0/5
Native as in for MAS and AA, the natives are malaysians so we expect a lot of them for the flight to malaysia. in this case, the natives are omanians (is it? or omaner or omanyte?) and there were a lot of them, like half of the whole passengers for the first half of the journey. And god they were so annoying and stupid and uncivilized and smelly and looked fishy and disgusting and i wanted to kill all of them, thank god there were none of them for the climax, muscat-klia flight. Most of you non-middle east students can't understand how annoying are them, i know. But just imagine the most annoying person you've met in Malaysia, i say annoying not criminal, like very loud chatterbox in fine-dining restaurant or smelly strangers or people with hyena-like laughter, stupid people generally, now times that by 10. that annoying. They were so loud, and they made such a chaos during the lebanon stop because they wanted to change seat stupidly, until the captain of the flight came out from the cockpit and resolved the matter. and that didnt stop there. they still stupidly wandering when the flight was ready for take-off, and i think the men were kind of harassed the stewardess'. called them names, then mocking them, followed by stupid devil-like laughter from their stupid crowd, many many times. this is the real turn-off of gulf countries airline, their own stupid people. and this is why i prefer royal jordanian, i can't stand watching stupid people, i'm afraid i lose my mind and slaughter them.
so overall, i like oman air, but i hate their natives so much. will i fly again with them? obviously for my return flight, but i prefer not again. though i'm very interested with the business class capsule-like seat. hmm..
